Macarthur Business Questions: September 2026
This first Regans quarterly roundup brings together practical questions for local business owners and households. It is an editorial guide, not a survey of Macarthur businesses or a measure of the regional economy.
How we chose these questions
We reviewed queries shown for the Regans website in Google Search Console over 14 June to 13 September 2026, checked existing Regans resources and consulted public government guidance. Local-accountant and private-health-insurance questions appeared in that website data. The bookkeeping and cash-flow topics below are editorial additions relevant to preparing for business accounting work.
Search Console reports appearances of our website, not total searches across a market. We have not used private client records, invented customer quotations or treated search activity as evidence of financial hardship.
“Is there a Regans office near Narellan or Oran Park?”
Our office is at Suite 1206, Building B, Level 1, 31B Lasso Road, Gregory Hills. The Narellan PO Box is for mail. Use the Macarthur office guide for hours and how to request an appointment.
“What if my bookkeeping is behind?”
Start by identifying the last period completed, the records available and any approaching deadline. Keep a list of missing items instead of estimating figures to make the books look complete. The Business Readiness Kit helps organise that first discussion.
Whether and when a backlog can be addressed depends on the records and work required. Ask for a defined scope and quote.
“Why can a busy business still feel short of cash?”
Work completed, invoices issued and money received are different stages. A practical review compares expected receipts with upcoming payments and labels uncertain amounts as estimates. It should also identify overdue invoices and commitments that are easy to overlook.
For an official introduction, read business.gov.au's cash flow statement guide. Discuss the accounting and GST basis relevant to your own records with your adviser.
“Does private health insurance reduce every Medicare charge?”
The Medicare levy and Medicare levy surcharge are different. Hospital cover can be relevant to the surcharge, while having private cover does not by itself remove the ordinary levy. A private health insurance rebate is also a separate concept.
Read the existing Regans private health insurance guide and check current ATO information for your circumstances. Avoid making a cover decision from a headline or assuming that an extras-only policy has the same effect as hospital cover.
One useful action this quarter
Choose one unresolved records issue, name the person responsible and agree the next step. A small, specific action is more useful than promising to “sort the accounts out” later.
Request an appointment or quote if you would like to discuss Regans' services.
